2008 Activities Calendar

Calendar of events for 2008 is still being developed.  Look for new & exciting events for the 2008 camping season.

Possible weekend activities include:  Wagon rides, games for kids, bingo, karaoke, Card games, bon fires, horse shoes, shuffleboard, basketball, volleyball, swimming, arcade games. See weekend schedule posted at office for specific times of events.If you would like to see other activities in the future please let us know.

Weekly Meet & Greet at the Rec Hall Friday nights at 5:30.  BYOB and a snack to share.  Come meet some new friends and catch up with your old ones.

Weekly events: Friday night social in Rec Hall every Friday night from 5:30 till whenever - BYOB and snack to share - meet new campers and catch up with old……. Other Friday night events - Karaoke, movie or other event at Rec Hall - Free Popcorn. Saturday afternoon games - Bingo or Cribbage or Texas Hold’em in Rec Hall

May 2-3 "SPRING BARGAIN WEEKEND"

Stay with us for the first 2 nights of the season for the discount rate of $26.50/night. Pot luck dinner in Rec Hall Saturday at 6:00. Please bring dish to share, own plates, utensils and drinks.

May 9-10 "MOTHERS DAY SPECIAL”

Complementary Mothers Day dinner, Saturday in Rec Hall at 6:00pm. Men and Children are welcome to help set up, cook, and serve dinner while mothers relax. Please bring own plates, utensils & drinks. No Visitor Fees on Sunday. Come visit mom on us.

May 16-17 “SUPER SPRING BARGAIN WEEKEND”

Stay with us 2 nights at the discount rate of $26.50/night and you can leave your camper set up on same site for use with your Memorial weekend reservation. Campers must be unhooked from utilities. Pump out not included. Pot luck dinner in Rec Hall Saturday at 6:00. Please bring a dish to share, plates, utensils & drinks.

May 23-25 “MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND” - “Motorcycle Thunder Run - May 25th”

Make and take crafts for kids, horse shoe tournaments, Bingo, & more... Friday night social, Saturday bake sale, Sunday pancake breakfast in Rec hall at 9:00. Please bring own plates, utensils & drinks. See weekend schedule posted at office for specific times of all events.

May 30-31 "SATURDAY NIGHT AUCTION"

Bring wrapped item to Rec Hall (Limit 4 items from each family) as donation and receive 1 raffle ticket per donated item. Bid on items to win item and a raffle ticket. Cash prizes raffled off at end of auction. Only ticket holders can win! All money taken in is returned as prizes. Please mark items that are for kids.

June 6-7 “EASTER WEEKEND”

Bingo. Easter Egg Calcutta Saturday night at 7:30 in Rec Hall. Easter egg hunt for the kids. Free Easter Brunch on Saturday morning at 11:00 in Rec Hall. Please bring own plates, utensils & drinks.

June 13-14 “FATHER'S DAY”

Homestead Fathers day golf tournament - Closest to the pin, Long drive, etc. All fathers welcome to participate. Come enjoy our "Pot Luck" dinner on Saturday night at 6:00 in Rec Hall. Ice cream social will follow at 7:30, compliments of Homestead Campground. Please bring a dish to share, plates, utensils & drinks to dinner.

June 20-21 “KIDS WEEKEND”

Scavenger hunt, make and take crafts, candy bar bingo, field games, wagon rides and more! There will be a community bon fire with complimentary s'mores fixing’s (please bring your own sticks). See weekend schedule posted in office for specific times of events.

June 27-28 "TOURNAMENT WEEKEND"

Compete for prizes in horseshoes, shuffleboard, cribbage, bingo, Hold’em.

July 3-5 "4TH OF JULY"

Bake sale, horseshoe tournaments, crafts for the kids - decorate your bikes for the bike parade, wagon rides, Bingo, Hold’em and more… See weekend schedule posted at office for specific times of all events.

July 11-12 "CHRISTMAS IN JULY"

Come to Homestead Campgrounds version of Christmas in July. Dress up your site and win prizes for the best decorated. Come to the Rec Hall for our Saturday night Christmas auction. July 18-19 "HAWAIIAN WEEKEND"

Make and take crafts in the Rec Hall - Make "leis" to wear at the Hawaiian social Saturday night. 

July 25-26 “THANKSGIVING WEEKEND”

Tee Pee building , make and take crafts in Rec Hall. Bingo. Make Thanksgiving decorations for our harvest dinner in Rec Hall Saturday night.

August 1-2 “WESTERN WEEKEND”

Saturday night western social.

August 8-9 “OLYMPIC WEEKEND” - “Motorcycle Toy run - Sunday 9th”

Summer Olympics start this weekend. Opening Ceremonies Friday. Come enjoy the Olympic events in the Rec-hall. Mini Olympic for the kids. Bingo. Bring your favorite international cuisine to our “Flavors of the world” pot luck dinner in the Rec Hall at 6:00 Saturday night. Please bring own plates, utensils and drinks.

August 15-16 "HALLOWEEN WEEKEND"

Make and take costume making for the kids in Rec Hall Saturday morning. Trick or Treat, visit our Haunted Forest and/or the Haunted Rec Hall - if you dare!! See weekend schedule posted at office for specific times of events.

August 22-23 "CALCUTTA WEEKEND" - Champlain Valley Fair starts Saturday

Buy your Calcutta tickets for a chance to win the Grand Prize at the Pot Luck dinner in the Rec Hall on Saturday night. For those of you who don't know what a Calcutta is, it is sort of a backwards raffle. Contestants start with the tickets they purchase and are eliminated as their ticket numbers are drawn. Last person wins or the final 10 have the option to split the pot. Please bring a dish to share, plates, utensils & drinks.

August 29-31 “LABOR DAY WEEKEND” -- Champlain Valley Fair ends Monday

Saturday Bake sale, make and take crafts for the kids, tournaments, breakfast. See weekend schedule posted at office for specific times of events.

Sept. 5-6 "THANK YOU WEEKEND BAR-B-QUE"

Come enjoy our "Season End Thank You" dinner in Rec Hall. Dinner is complementary for paid seasonal guests (includes paid seasonal family members who purchased seasonal passes). Advanced tickets required. Small fee for weekend campers and must be a registered camper for the weekend. Please bring plates, utensils & drinks.

Sept 12-13, 19-20, 26-27, Oct 3-4 “AUTUMN BARGAIN WEEKENDS”

$26.50 per night based on 2-night minimum OR 2 weekends for $90.00 OR all 4 weekends for $160.00 and can leave camper set up for the following weekend with reservations. Campers must be unhooked from utilities. Pump out not included. Please give advanced notice so we may book you on the same site for each weekend. Pot luck dinners on Saturday nights at 6:00 in Rec Hall. Please bring a dish to share, plates, utensils and drinks. Spend the last couple weekends of the camping season with us!!
